Obituary of Ruth Anne Wade
It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Anne (MacPherson) Wade announces her passing which occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Born in Sydney, NS, on November 17, 1947, she was a daughter of the late William and Alice (Walsh) MacPherson.
Beginning her career in the Administration Branch of the Army, she showcased her organizational skills and dedication before finding her calling in training the next generation by transferring to the Navy's Cadet Instructors list, where she nurtured many young cadets. Ruth also served as a member of the Corp of Commissionaires for over 20 years.
Ruth leaves behind her loving husband of 45 years, David Wade; her siblings, Kenneth, Gordon, Lois and Janice; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Bill.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place from St. Paul’s Anglican Church (Oak Point) in the spring. Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to Alzheimer’s Society and Kiwanis Nursing Home.
