Obituary of Arnold James Ferris
With heavy hearts, the family of Arnold James Ferris, husband of the late Jean (Garnett) Ferris, announce his passing on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 19, 1956, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Hubert Coleman and Margaret Theresa (Evans) Ferris.
Arnold was a truck driver for many years, and prior to trucking, he had served in the Canadian Militia in New Brunswick and Ontario. He had a big heart and was very giving, and had accumulated a lot of friends over the years, over different provinces. He loved his children and grandchildren and cherished his relationships with them.
Arnold is survived by his daughter, Chrissy Nickel (Chris); son, James Ferris; sisters and brother: Lillian Moulton (Dale), Richard Ferris (Dianne), Shirley Robinson (Luke LeBlanc), Donna Ferris (Cory Williker), and Linda Naves (George McLeod); step-children, Gord Garnett and Angie Garnett; lots of grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his sisters, Carolyn Dempster and Peggy McDonald; and his step-son, Bubba Garnett.
The family would like to thank the incredible hospital staff of the SICU for their amazing care, compassion, and kindness to Arnold and his family.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), where visitation will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 1 to 2 pm, at which time a Celebration of Life service will be held in Brenan’s Chapel. For those who wish, and in lieu of flowers, remembrances to NB Lung would be appreciated by the family. Interment will take place in the summer in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
