Helen Worden

Obituary of Helen Louise Worden

It is with great sadness and appreciation for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of Helen Louise Worden (Durley) on January 1, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Helen was born on June 25, 1959, in Saint John, NB, to the late George and Mary Louise (Sommers) Durley. She will be profoundly missed by her son, William Nicholas Worden, and daughters, Stephanie and Samantha Worden. She leaves behind 2 sisters, Evelyn Raynes as well as Starr Rolfe who will miss her dearly.

Throughout her life she remained as close as she could to her nieces and nephews, Jamie Raynes, John Rolfe, Austin Crawford, Joe Durley, Donnie Miller, Jamie Mitchell, Amanda and Kayla Raynes as well as Gale Miller.

Helen was a very involved grandmother to (her snugglebug) Chez Worden, Chanelle Worden, Dyson White and Isabella Campbell. As years passed, her mobility declined and she had to usen both a cane and a walker, but it did not stop her from being active in her great-grandchildren’s lives too.

She helped care for little Richard Worden, Percy Abric and Andrei Abric-Worden. It was wonderful to see her experience all the firsts with these boys and spoil them. She didn’t let much hold her back.

Helen will be lovingly reunited with her husband, William Gregory Worden, parents George and Mary Louise, sisters, Julie Ann and Sherry, brothers, Billy, Victor, Georgie, nephews, Bud, Artie, Stephan and Robert, as well as her niece Vicky.

Many cousins, other family and friends that may not be listed, you were important to Helen as well. She touched a lot of lives in her 65 years here on this earth. To Sarah and Sabrina, she will always be known as “Mamma Grouch”. Thank you to Lisa Bovaird for talking to her by phone daily. You were a great friend and support to her.

She gave lots of love and received it.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenans Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John NB (506-634-7424). In keeping with Helen's
wishes, there will be no service at this time. However, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Donations in Memory of Helen would be greatly appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be shared at www.BrenansFH.com
