Barry, Lynn, Mark, Mike & Stephen ... Brian and I are saddened to hear this news. Your mom was one of the sweetest, she always had a smile on her face, and a big hug for us when we would see her. I think we spent more time at your house as teenagers, than we did at our own. Joannie will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. We are thinking of you all during this difficult time. ~hugs~ Trudy & Brian

Joan had a great sense of humour and never thought I was too much. I looked forward to joking with on the Wednesdays when I was in town. We joked about life at bingo at Dennis Morris and she was never shy to offer a bit of wisdom when I strayed off course. She will be missed by many. I was lucky to have known her….so was a force

In Grade 1, I just thought of Joan as the mom of my classmate. As an almost adult, I had the pleasure of discovering what a wonderful character Joan was; you could not be in her presence without laughing and feeling happier. For me, Grand Bay was a great community to grow up in, due to people like Joan. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

To Joanie’s family and especially her sister Gloria, she was a fun loving soul and always had a desire to make people laugh. She and Art (her lodge neighbour) would spend the morning after a Habs game discussing what went right and what went wrong-lol. I appreciated her support and will always remember her fondly-rest in peace Joanie!

My sincere condolences to all of Joan’s family.
Nana Joanie as I believe we used to call her became a part of my world when I attended princess Elizabeth school. I became best friends with her granddaughter, Megan.
On our lunch breaks, we would often find ourselves at Joan’s while she prepped us something delicious. Sandwich, soup whatever she could provide.
It was always so tasty!
During our visit We laughed, joked, and she would often tell us to smarten up.
Those lunches meant more to me than I think Joan would have ever known.
Those lunches and the times she allowed me in her house provided me with a sense of love, security, and a full belly. I am forever grateful.
May you rest in peace Joan.

Joan was such an amazing and caring woman. Some of my fondest memories of her is going camping in my childhood. She had so much patience and love for life. I wasn't one of her grand children, but I always felt like I was. She will always hold a dear place in my heart and she will be greatly missed.

Oh how very sorry I am to read of Joan’s passing. I was wondering last week how she was doing. I was her Avon lady for many years and a delivery always turned into a half hour chit chat. I liked her very much. She struggled so long for fresh air and I believe she is getting plenty of that now in Heaven where she will live her forever life with the Lord. I will always remember her with a smile.
