Obituary of William Murray Butler
Bill Butler, loving husband of Mary (Winchester) Butler, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John on March 26, 1948, he was a son of the late Thomas and Rita (Babineau) Butler.
Bill will be missed by his wife, Mary; children: Jill Butler (Joel), Mark Butler (Kate) and Michael Butler (Nancy); ten grandchildren: Hayden, Hayley and Abby Muise, Michael, Patrick, Andrew and Sarah Butler, and Clara, Micah and Nora Butler; his siblings: Gerald Butler and Sue Beale; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by an infant brother, Ronald.
Bill’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Oncology Department at the Saint John Regional Hospital as well as all the staff and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice for their care and friendship given to Bill during his illness. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Honouring Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X, 316 Somerset St. Saint John. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bill’s favourite charity – Water for People- Canada, or Bobby’s Hospice.
