I have fond memories of Mel and Rick, Mel on the Firetrucks and Rick on the Police Cruisers. In those days we spent a fair amount of time enjoying the presence of Mel, always with a smile on his face and always with a helping hand. He was good, he could make the wheels turn. I so much enjoyed his company and his friendly manner. I hold Mel Smith in high esteem! He is in my thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace. J. Kevin McDonald Sgt. (Rtd.)
