Obituary of Marvin Gerald Halpin
With appreciation for a life well lived, the family of Marvin G. Halpin grieve for his passing which occurred on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing with his family by his side. Born on April 8, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John and Georgina (Record) Halpin.
Marvin joined our Canadian Armed Forces in the Merchant Navy at a very young age. In his later years, Marvin enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends playing poker (Texas Holdem)
Marvin will be dearly missed by children: Cindy, Brenda (Wayne), Pat (Jack) and Kelly; Connie (the mother of his children), who held a very special place in his heart, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Marvin was predeceased by his siblings: Gordie and Helen.
A very special, heartfelt “Thank you” to the staff at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, who was more like family to Marvin. We will be forever grateful to each and every one of you for the special care and love you extended to him. Marvin loved you all and appreciated your kindness and affection. We are sure you will all miss Marvin’s sense of humor and chocolate bars as much as the family will.
