Dear Carol, It was with regret that I learned of the passing of your dear sister Jane.
Leigh & I always enjoyed our visits & phone calls over the years and found her to be such a kind and caring person, loving & playing music too. She must have been a treat in her years as a teacher. One of our visits found us at the restaurant at the Reversing Falls with you & Jane. As we were leaving, a former student paused to speak with her and declared what an influence she had been in her life. ¨How nice was that.¨ Jane would have remarked afterward.
Love from me and from the children.

Her face looking into mine, meeting Jane for the first time at 11 in the home of her aunt, Muriel Alison Clarke (nee Langstroth) my grandmother, I understood something of my potential and intelegence in that meeting. It was strengthening...I am grateful for her life...wish I had been a pupil of hers..

Dear Carol, My condolences for the loss of you sister, Jane. I have fond memories of picking her up on our way to Charlotte St. School. Your mother was usually still braiding her beautiful long hair when I arrived at the back door. Though we lost touch in later years, I always think of her as a very special friend. With love, Penny
