Our sincerest condolences aunt Hill. It has been a long time since I’ve made it up your way, but I will always have some fond memories of him. I was forced to kiss a cod and shown the true Newfie way last time I was there. We will always keep him in our hearts.

Some of the fondest memories I have of my Uncle Bob we’re at a very young age when the whole family would get together either in Toronto or by his lake house. Him and uncle Brian would relentlessly make fun of me, and now that I look back on it I’m going to miss the back and forth banter we would have. When I think back on those days the first thoughts that always come to mind are how much fun I had with my Uncle Bob. I remember going to visit him in Florida, and seeing how happy he was at the community he lived at. With nine holes of golf across from his front porch, and a community center always setting up events, even I was jealous of his lifestyle. I know you’re up there looking down on us now uncle bob, and I want you to know that I look forward to seeing you soon enough again in the distant future. Until then, know I love you.
Love James

Dear Aunt Hilary,
I was so sad to hear about the passing of Uncle Bob. I have fond memories of the times we did have the opportunity to see each other given our distance with you in NB and me in BC. I find comfort in knowing Uncle Bob is now reunited with my mom and Aunt Barb. I can hear the 3 of them laughing and being silly as they always did when they had the opportunity to be together.
We are thinking of you during this very difficult time. Much love and big hugs from Rob and I. My dad wanted me to say how sorry he is too and sends his condolences.
Love, Lisa

Please accept my deepest condolences at this time. I first met Bob when we relocated HMCS BRUNSWICKER to its new location on Chesley Drive (1995) later in the 90’s BRUNSWICKER hosted a Tribal Class Ships’ reunion for all Sailors who sailed on “Tribal’s”. I was the liaison for the event; it was four days of fun with many stories, laughs, rekindling of friendships and merriment.
Bob was very proud of his time in the RCN and the fact he was a “Stoker”. I always enjoyed talking with him, his sense of humour and service to the community. May you take comfort knowing we share in your loss and strength from our prayers.
Sincerely,
Paul D Smith, Cox’n / CPO (ret)
