Sister Angie was a wonderful woman; we will miss her tremendously. Her work in mission and her dedication to others was truly influential.
Sister Martz identified areas where people and society needed help and she worked diligently to effect change. And, as all Sisters do, she inspired others to take up these works of mission and continue them after her. This way of being has strengthened our society and we are forever grateful.

What a beautiful soul! Sister Martz was my favourite teacher at St. Vincent’s; she was a truly gifted teacher. Teaching was only one of her many gifts which she selflessly and energetically shared with so many.
My condolences to her family and many friends.

I am so sorry to read the news of Sister Martz's passing. She was one of my favourite teachers at St. Vincent's, teaching me math throughout my time there. She was also my homeroom teacher in Grade 12. After high school I would often see her at the ecumenical Good Friday walks in Uptown Saint John. My condolences to all her family and friends.

Dear Sisters of Charity and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Sister Angie’s passing.
Sister Angie was a wonderful colleague. One of the first people I met when coming to Saint John to work with the Refugee Support Centre. A wonderful force of social justice. Determined, thoughtful and with a quick wit and wonderful smile. Later, Sister Angie helped found the Saint John Community Loan Fund as one of the founding committee members. I like to think that her wisdom and infused spirit had a hand in enabling us to reach our 20th anniversary this year.
She is one of the great ones indeed. I was so very fortunate to have known her. I know she influenced who I am and how I thought about the world.
With sincere condolences from my family and my extended family of the Saint John Community Loan Fund,
Seth Asimakos

We met Sister Angie in December of 1991 when we arrived in Canada; she was very helpful and compassionate; drove us to Doctors appointments; helped me set up curtains in our first apartment, proceeded to teach us how to read the bus schedule and understand how to shop for groceries, a must survival skill for newcomers. Thank you Sister Angie for all you did for us!

Sister Martz was one of my favourite teachers at St. Vincent's and that says a lot given I was not very good in the math department. She always had a smile and loved a good joke.

This was one remarkable woman! I had the pleasure of working with Sister Angie on many social justice projects. She was kind and caring and also angry at the injustices in the world, both home and especially in South America. Angie also had a terrific sense of humour which served as a reminder that we can find the bright side of almost any situation. Once she set her mind on accomplishing something, within the social justice world, she was like the Ever-ready Bunny with unstopable energy. Angie, it was a pleasure to work by your side. It is my sincere hope that you are now resting with the angels secure in the knowledge that you did a wonderful job of inspiring so many folks in their quest for justice for All. I will miss you - you touched many lives and your legacy will live on in those of us who had the privilege to work by your side.

Sister was my math, home room, and therefore religious ed teacher at St. Vincent’s. She had a brilliant mind, yet the ability to keep life very simple and clear in her beliefs. She found joy in the every day. Years after graduating I remember running into her in the parking lot of a department store. She’s just bought a new broom and was excited to get back and put it to work. Rest In Peace, Sister Angelina, and thank you for all you taught me.

Ralph and I do not have enough words to say how much Angie meant to us and to the greater community. She was an inspiration to me and I would often tell her, "I want to be like you when I grow up!" and she would just laugh. I'm sure she's in heaven now organizing for a cause close to her heart. We will miss her.
