My sincere condolences to the Irving family. Although I have not seen Colin since our days at SJHS, I have always carried fond memories of this quiet young man with the curly blonde hair and kind personality. You should know even in high school he was kind and thoughtful. In my senior I broke my leg and require crutches to get around. Until that event I had never even spoken to Colin, but for the next 6 weeks he carried my books from class to class, up and down all those stairs. I will always remember his quiet kindness....may he rest in peace.

Dear Suzanne,
I was truly saddened to learn of Colin's passing. I can recall the "old days" water skiing, in particular in Morrisdale, when even Jack participated in the water ski recreational awards program successfully. KC was in attendance and very proud of both his son and grandson. Those seemed to be much simpler times and lots of fun. You have lost a husband and son all too soon. My deepest condolences !.

Colin was definitely an amazing person on a whole. He loved life and nature!
I worked with Colin at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto for almost a year in the Emergency Department. We shared countless chats about life and how we could help less fortunate people.
Colin had a heart of gold, always putting others happiness ahead of his own. I will always remember Colin for his gentleness and his love for serving people, and also his love for music and cultures.
I will sadly miss all the great chats we used to share every week as he would volunteer his time to assist patients around the hospital. Every Tuesday at 9 am till 12 pm Colin and I would just bounce ideas off one another about life and making a difference. We would also often have lunch together and just talk about our ideas and share amazing life stories. Colin was a great encouragement to my life personally in such a short period of time. Colin would constantly share words of empowerment with me. Because I serve as a Revered, Colin felt so excited to share possible sermon subjects that he thought I could share with my congregation on a weekly basis. His thoughts we so impactful and profound.
The day I got the call that he was gone it hit me deeply! I was stunned and speechless. I have remained in prayer for the family during this difficult time.
I hold a very high respect for Colin. He is gone but will definitely not be forgotten by me.

Dear Suzanne, John and Anne,
My sincere condolences. I was extremely shocked and saddened to hear of Colin's passing. I first met Colin at Saint John High School where we quickly became friends through a shared love of music. We ended up playing in a band together and had a lot of great times hanging out. We lost contact for awhile, but I was fortune enough to reconnect with him in Toronto not too long ago. I have many fond memories of Colin. He was an extremely kind and generous person and a gifted musician. He had a bigger than life personality and was the funniest person that I've ever met. One of a kind! He will be greatly missed!

Suzanne, John and Anne,
Sorry to hear of Colin's passing. Although it's been many years since I've seen Colin, I remember him well as a "bon vivant" who had a distinct love of music and skateboarding. His perpetually active mind seemed focused on the the lighter side of life, all the while acknowledging there were others less fortunate than himself who might need a helping hand. May he find eternal rest.

My deepest condolences to all those that loved and cared for Colin. There are many. We all had our own separate relationships with him. I met Colin a few years ago, when as the Volunteer Coordinator at the Odette Cancer Centre, Colin came in to interview for a position. He was real, funny, smart and passionate. I immediately liked him. From that moment on Colin became a dedicated volunteer in our Chemo Clinic. He touched the staff, the other volunteers and patients in a way that only Colin could. He was special, compassionate, empathetic, caring and kind. I am going to miss seeing Colin pass by my office with a wave and a smile each Wednesday and Thursday. He is going to be greatly missed.

I am the Director of the Odette Cancer Program at Sunnybrook and we are devastated by the loss of Colin and so so sorry for your loss.
The entire team of physicians, nurses, clerical staff, volunteers, allied health and most important our patients and families are so going to miss Colin. His larger than life smile and laugh will always be remembered.
So many folks have expressed their shock and sorrow in the last few days.
He made a huge impact to everyone during every shift he worked at Odette in particular his time spent in the chemotherapy unit holding hands, laughing, hugging, smiling while offering comfort and support to everyone. He had a unique knack for knowing when someone was having a challenging visit (or shift with staff) and was able to provide that extra attention and support, hug and smile.
Please know he made a huge contribution and difference to so so many cancer patients.

Condolences to Robb Harper and all the Irving Family. Colin was a one of a kind guy with a huge and generous heart for both those he knew and didnt know. He loved giving of himself, not wanting acknowledgment or recognition for doing such. His love for music and his painless attempts at trying to teach me his guitar skills that fell a bit on deaf ears as I am still no musician in comparison to him. His crazy sense of humour and that laugh and wonderful smile. His love of animals. He and Robb were the fave Uncles to my boy Banner right to the very end which always I hold so dear in my heart. His love of food no matter what is was as long as its smothered is copious amounts of sauce or ketchup. His love for theatrics and how excited he became when he was planning some new extravaganza was a joy to watch. Just that sparkle in his eye like a child was heart warming to see him engulfed in something he loved. My and many others lives were enhanced by just knowing you. I am honoured to have called you my friend. May you be carried off in the notes of all music you so loved.
