I was able to meet Mr. Waldschutz many times over the years through Jennifer, and I was always met with a huge smile and a strong handshake. First of all my deepest personal condolences. I have admired much about Mr. Waldshultz in the past 25 years I've known him. But most of all I've taken quiet comfort and inspiration from his battle with cancer and his ability to live longer, much longer than expected. I'm very sad this morning for Jennifer, Jan, Colin and family. I was really rooting for Chris. When living with cancer, longer is always better. I hope he died without too much pain and I'm happy you all were all able to be with him. I know he's always preferred to be a very private person. One final thought for now....he has been one of the pioneers in the restoration and revitalization of our neighborhood. We need to recognize those pioneers more. I'm nearby and quite eager to help in any way if you need.

David was a pilot as well working for the Irvings and I recall him often speaking of Chris with the utmost of respect and friendship.
