Obituary of Christopher Rolf Otto Waldschütz
The death of Christopher Rolf Otto Waldschütz occurred on November 15, 2019. He was born in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia (now known as Zimbabwe) on July 3, 1945. He was the only son of Rolf Otto and Helen G. (Haldane) Waldschütz.
Christopher is survived by his wife Janice (Urquhart), daughter Jennifer, son Colin, daughter-in-law Jan, grandsons Neil and Andrew and sister, H. Ann Ackroyd.
He was educated at Peterhouse Boys’ School and McGill University. At a young age he was a glider pilot, and continued his love of flying as a corporate pilot with the Irving Group for almost 30 years.
Christopher was active in the Saint John community as a member of Common Council, Chairman of the Board of Police Commissioners and Warden of Trinity Anglican Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A private family service will take place at Trinity Anglican Church. For those who wish, the family would appreciate donations to the Trinity Anglican Church Steeple Fund, or a charity of your choice in memory of Christopher.
