Clari was first cousin to my Mum, Elaine, but in fact she was more like a sister to her, as Mum went to live with Clari’s parents (Auntie Clari and Uncle George Holmes) after she had lost both her own parents by her mid teens. They were very close and always stayed in touch across the miles after Clari married Clay and went to live in Canada. Mum had very fond memories of the time she spent with the Holmes side of her family and often spoke of the years in Elm Road, Windsor. As a child I frequently visited Auntie Clari in the house where Clari and her sister Doris (and in her teens my own Mum) were brought up, as it was just a short distance from where we lived. Clari had a beautiful smile which I will always remember and I will for ever be grateful to the Holmes family for being there for my Mum in her time of need and for all the love and good times they shared. My love and sympathy go to all of Clari’s family at this sad time.
