Obituary of Clari Woodhouse Matthews
It’s with heavy hearts the family of Clari Matthews wish to announce her passing on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Clari was born in Windsor, England on March 28th, 1927 to the late George and Clari Holmes.
Clari, in her younger years worked in retail in Windsor, England, where she met and married her soul mate. They then moved to the Saint John area where she remained until her passing. She was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary Guild of Loch Lomond. She enjoyed writing poetry and singing in the church. She loved gardening, sitting on her deck, listening to her music, going for long drives and in earlier years enjoyed camping with her late husband. She also enjoyed collecting stuffed “Monkeys” and walking on the beach collecting trinkets.
Clari was predeceased by her husband, Clayton and two sons, Graham and George. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Geraldine Green (late husband Ken), Garnet Matthews (Dorothe), Gordon Matthews (Deborah) and Ginny Matheson (Jon). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Jeffrey Green (Lisa), Jillian Hope (Jamie), Christopher Matthews (MacKenzie), Craig Matthews (Heidi), Caley Ross (Gordon), Heidi Wheelock (Scott), Aimee Matheson (Clayton) and Krista Waycott.
