Obituary of Burton Eugene Gale
Burton E. Gale passed away peacefully on July 15, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on December 27, 1927, he was a son of the late Roy J. A. and Myrtle (McConomy) Gale.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Carter) Gale in March of 1994. Burton will be missed by his son David (Crystal) of Sussex; grandchildren: Nora Jean and Kaitlyn. He is survived by many nieces and nephews – Susan (Gale) Welton (Rickey) of Grand Bay, nephews John (Brenda) Gale, Gregory (Maxine) Gale of Grand Bay, Kim Jeffrey of Moncton and Gale (Carol) Jeffrey of Sussex.
In addition to his wife, Jean, and his parents, Burton was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie (Gordon) Jeffrey; his brothers, Ashley & Paul; his son, Alex Gale; and his sisters-in-law, Rose and Shirley.
David wishes to send special thanks to Greg Gormley and JoAnn Boyle, who were an amazing support for Burt over the last few years.
In his youth he was an avid hockey and baseball player, playing in the Saint John area. He also loved to hunt, fish, and sail. By trade, Burton was a plumber working for different companies in Saint John and finished working as Plumbing Inspector for the city of Saint John. Burton loved his camp at Young’s Cove spending most summers there since 1969.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (634-7424) with visitation on Monday, July 20, 2020, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in the Brenan’s Chapel at 12:00 PM. Remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Canadian Cancer Society, Greenwood Cemetery, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
