My mom was a lady who loved her children and husband deeply and unconditionally. We love her back in the same way. I remember that she read to me so much before I started school, that despite not going to kindergarten, I could read before I started Grade One. She was so proud of that.....as it was a shared accomplishment. But then, your mother is your first and best teacher throughout life. She is also your first and best friend. How blessed I was to have a mom you, mom. How blessed Johnnie was to have a "nanny" like you. You read as many stories to him as your did to me, you taught him about the bible and the importance of prayer, and you showed him all the love that was in a grandma's heart. I know you are in heaven now watching over us. I am sad that I will not get to see you on earth anymore.....but I am so happy that you are with your mom and dad and siblings in heaven now, and with our Heavenly father. I love you mom!

Mom...I will never forget the time I told you that you must dye your hair because you were 50 and still had no grey hair! You were so upset with me. I even went through your house looking for the proof but could not find any dye. When you went to Carleton Kirk Lodge some of the nurses asked me if you dyed your hair! You were 82 and almost had no grey hair. We laughed and told them this story. After months of being there and still no grey hair they all knew that you were just blessed with no grey! I miss you Mom. I know I have a guardian angel watching over us now.
