Obituary of Grace Mary Hazel MacNeill

It is with heavy hearts and gratitude for a lifetime of memories that the family of Grace Mary Hazel MacNeill announces her peaceful passing, which occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Carleton Kirk Lodge. Born in Chatham, NB on May 31, 1935, she was the daughter of the late George and Harriet (McDowell) MacPherson.

Grace was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and took great pride in managing her family’s household. She made sure to know they were loved unconditionally, and raised her children to be kind, independent adults.

In addition to her husband Ian MacNeill of 64 years, Grace will be missed by her children: Lucetta MacNeill, Debbie Rapp (Stanley), Roderick MacNeill (Edna) and Heather Shentaler (Todd); and grandchildren: Sheri Lee, Trevor Donovan, Kelsey MacNeill, Kody MacNeill, and Johnny Rumbolt.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Grace’s wishes, a private interment will take place at a later date at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
