Mom always told the story of Bob throwing a party as a teenager in the basement, and Nana crashed the party with a ukulele. That's one of my favourite Bobby and Lois stories. He was always the life of the party and has so many beautiful friendships to show for it.

My wife, Gail, and I met at one of Bobby's parties, so we are both very saddened by your loss. In fact, I was putting my beer in Bobby's fridge when Gail walked into the kitchen. Since my beer was warm, I offered her one of Bobby's cold beers. Haha She accepted. So, thanks to Bob we got together. I will buy the next round, Bob. Love ya, buddy.

I love all my Bob Black paintings but this was the most recent one he gave me. His art lives on in so many homes it would be hard to count. Just as it would be hard to count the lives and hearts he touched. He was loved by many because his heart was in everything he did. The biggest heart that couldn’t contain it all. Gone too soon. Erin, Ben, Gabby and Tess, his love carries on with you. Just the best husband and father. Rest In Peace Bobby love you all, Pam, Kevin and Shaelynn Dicaire

Deepest heartfelt condolences to Erin and kids. I had the pleasure of working with Bob at the refinery for five shutdowns. He was a remarkable man. He always had a nickname for everyone and mine was “mudder” I guess that had something to do with me being from the “Rock” because I used to gently remind him that I was a little younger than him. He was the best. RIP Bobby, you will be forever missed but always remembered xo

To Bob's family. I can not tell you how saddened I am of Bobs passing. I had worked in the same group as Bob the past 4 years but had known him for the last 10 years..Bob would always share stories of his family but he would also be willing to listen to someone else's story. The glass was always half full with Bob. Everyone at work got to know Bob and everyone loved Bob. He was always in a good mood ,which sometimes frustrated people on how that was even possible lol. I will always remember our good chats , you will definitely be missed by all. My thoughts are with all of his family and friends. Your friend Andy.

Dear Erin, Gab, Ben and Tess, words cannot express how heartbroken I am for your loss. Bobby Boy was your rock, your center of gravity and life will never be the same. Take comfort in knowing your were his center of gravity and loved you all dearly.
I remember when Erin told me she had met Bob in Halifax. She had found “the one” and from that moment on they were a team. Through thick and thin, the birth of their children (Tessa, I still take credit for you my dear...I do believe you were conceived on your parent’s trip to Toronto to visit me!!), and all of the ups and down of life. I always admired your relationship and the love you shared. I was blessed to be counted among the people who got to share in that love - he didn’t really have a choice as I was part of the package deal of friends that came with Erin when they got together.
I still haven’t processed the fact you are gone. Bob, you leave behind a legacy of a beautiful family, a wonderful group of friends and your memory. I promise to continue to be there for my oldest and dearest friend Erin and your beautiful children. I will miss you dearly and am blessed to have called you friend.
