Obituary of Darrell Keith Belyea
Darrell Belyea - BSC, BBA, CA, MOS, POC (1955 - 2021)
"August, 1980 - the happiest day of my life. Married my soulmate and love of my life. I've been blessed with two wonderful boys, Aaron and Adam, who have grown into amazing men and meant everything to me."
Darrell Belyea, 65 of Quispamsis, New Brunswick passed away on July 28th at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was born to parents Doug and Dawn, September 12th, 1955, in Saint John New Brunswick. Darrell graduated from Millidgeville North High School, 1973 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton in 1977. He received a 2nd degree, a BBA from UNBSJ in 1979 and enrolled into the CA program the same year.
"I was so proud receiving my CA degree. I loved my clients and the work I did for them." Darrell was also incredibly proud of establishing his own firm: Belyea, Colwell, Daley and Associates in 1988".
He is survived by his wife Rebecca 'Irv' (Irvine); his sons, Aaron (Amber) and Adam (Gretchen); his mother, Dawn Gallagher (Belyea); his brother, Doug (Alice); sisters, Dianne (John) and Donna (Todd); sister-in-law, Vicki (Wayne); brother-in-law, Richard (Janet); and numerous nieces and nephews. Darrell was predeceased by his beautiful sister, Debbie, and his father, Doug.
Darrell was happiest spending time with his family. He loved Christmas, travelling, spending his summers camping in their hard-top, boating, winters skiing at Sunday River, concerts and 'highly competitive' golf games with his boys. "I always loved to wander and explore the back roads and mountains. When my boys grew up, Becky and I continued to wander overseas, throughout the US and to warmer destinations."
Darrell valued his many friendships. He loved salmon fishing on the Miramichi River, the 'Old Boys on Tour' annual motorcycle trips, neighbourhood corn boils, First Lights and Halloween door-to-door adventures.
The family would personally like to thank Dr. Burnell, Dr. Naz, Dr. Mo, Dr. Graham MacNeil, Extra-mural, the staff of 4B South and the nursing and staff of oncology for 15 years of care.
Special thanks to the Blanchards, the Creamers and the Galloways.
Darrell lived a life without regret and cherished every moment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bobby's Hospice, The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation or the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Darrell's wishes, a time of visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 2 to 8 pm. Guests are asked to enter through the courtyard entrance.
