Dear Donna,
I truly enjoyed caring for Doug on 4AN. He offered many times to take me to Australia- a place he obviously loved! He loved your daily visits and I am sure you will miss him dearly.

Doug was a simple man with a heart as big as Saint John. Linda and I loved him dearly. He did not suffer fools easily. His love for the little things was evident. A big St. Louis Cardinals fan, he had a great collection of 'Cards' hats to wear when walking through the Market.
He also loved people and storytelling, something at which he excelled. The beach, Mispec Beach to be exact, was his haven. He was given the unofficial title, the Mayor of Mispec, decades ago. He knew every inch of the beach and would report any changes to the sand bar, the stairs, erosion and the parking lot to us.
He also knew just about every regular visitor to the beach and if you were female and friendly you just may have been asked, "Dahling could you put some sun tan lotion on my back?"
What I would say is if you were lucky enough to know Doug, you were lucky enough!
God rest your soul Dougie. You are having that joyous family reunion now. It was something we talked about many times. God bless you and keep you, until we meet again.
