Aunt Barb: Carl was a great man, as you’ve told me several times recently. I know you’ll miss him dearly, as we all will. I found this photo of the big guy, taken in 1998 when you and Carl were visiting Dad (your brother) in the hospital a few months before Dad's passing.
To Carla, Charyl, and the rest of the family: Brenda and I extend our heartfelt sympathy, and hope you cherish the great memories and love of this wonderful man, father, and grandfather. We will all miss his ‘corny’ humour.

Barb, Carla, Cheryl and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. I have very fond memories of Carl scattered throughout my life and childhood. He was the only sibling of Nanny’s whom I really knew because of his and Dad’s friendship. I can genuinely say that I was always happy to see him or talk to him and couldn’t wait for him to say something foolish which would always make me laugh. I loved that about him and I always knew his voice immediately when he called to talk to Dad. I almost hated to let Dad have the phone! Haha! It was nice that he kept in contact with Mom and I these last few years even after Dad passed. Only wish I’d been able to get up there to see him more often. We will miss him. Our thoughts are with you all.

Brittany and I send our deepest condolences to all of Carl's family. Carl was one of the best of us... Funny and kind. A true family man and a great example of what a loving parent, grandparent and husband should be. The world is a lesser place with the loss of his character and integrity. Rest in peace Carl.

I admire the love and tender care you gave to your sweet wife Barbra and the constant unwavering love you showed your daughters and your overall love of family and friends. I grew to appreciate your humorous character and your accepting nature of others, even us Yankees. You are the only grandpa Jonathan has gotten to known well and your humor will live with him forever.
Love you Carl, until we meet again in the realms above.
