Obituary of Carl Edmund Foster
With appreciation for a lifetime of memories, the family of Carl Edmund Foster, beloved husband of Barbara (Sullivan) Foster announces his passing, which occurred on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 23, 1937, he was a son of the late Walter and Luella (Bacon) Foster.
In addition to his wife Barbara of 42 years, Carl will be missed by his daughters: Carla Foster and Charyl Bowman (Dean); his grandchildren: Erin Clayton (Jason), Virginia Clark (Brian), Nathan Clark (Lauren), Emily Foster and step-grandson Jonathan Bowman; Great-grandchildren: Ada, Mia, Emma and Nathaniel Clayton, James Rich, Meah Foster-Cormier, Rowan and Halle Clark; siblings: Lloyd Foster (Rosalind) and Lois Lemmon (Rt. Rev. George Lemmon); good friends: Mark, Kelsey and Charlie; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by siblings: Mayes, Dorothy, Norma, Gregory, Nerea, Shirley and Douglas.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Carl’s wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, by invitation only. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
