My deepest sympathies to Fred and all of Edna's family. I had the pleasure of supporting Edna and Fred while they fostered children within our province and truly saw their commitment to this role.

Sincere sympathy to the family. Edna provided refuge for many children over the years…it seems appropriate that her funeral would be during Foster Family Appreciation week.

Dearest cousin Fred, Margo, Freddie Tait and Families. Ever since i was a young girl Mom always spoke of Edna being ill and how strong she was. Her strength, determination and the love she had for her family and friends helped her get through her life's journey. Her work here on earth is completed and now is the time for her reward for doing what she did and being who she was. She is now free. Rest in peace Edna....hugs

Condolences, hugs and lots of love to Margo, Irvine, Scott, Jill and all of Edna's family. I have heard many stories of how incredibly strong, determined and amazing she was. She has left behind such a beautiful legacy....a family of blood relatives and children who she touched by giving herself as a foster parent. I hope you all find some peace in knowing that she is no longer in pain and that she is now able to rest in peace. Thinking of you all today, and for the difficult days ahead. XO

She was my Foster Mom for several years. She gave my sister and I a home when we were in need of a safe haven and the love of a good family. For this we are grateful. She fought a long battle and it is time for her to rest. You are forever loved and will be missed!

To Uncle Fred, Freddy, Margo and Tait Sharkey!
Hal and I are so sorry for the loss of such a beautiful loving, kind, caring and giving Aunt!
She gave so much of herself over the years to so many people she came into contact with and loved them unconditionally!
She was a great Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Sister and Aunt and so much more…
I’m so glad she loved to play Bingo with her friend, it was a blessing to her to enjoy a night out when having so many health issues… she needed that for sure over the years..
May she Rest In Peace now in the arms of God and her parents and siblings..
I loved her then, love her now and always will… love Jean Verner Melvin and Hal Melvin! ❤️❤️
