Dear cousins, Diane, Chuck and Brian and family and friends of Aunt Marie my sincerest sympathies. Marie was very thoughtful. She once invited my grandmother, Blanche Verner and I to watch a video from Uncle Earl to gram. Back then, there was no Face time. It was very special! In the picture is Gram, Marie, me, Chuck and a little girl. Lots of love, Kate Nimz (nee Bacon, Josephine and Ralph’s daughter)

My dearest Aunt Marie, I will miss you but I believe I will see you again in heaven. I want to thank you for everything you ever did for me as I was growing up without my Mom. You took care of us kids when Mom was sick and when she passed away. You took care of the reception for my first wedding and watched over me when I was going through tough times. I could always count on you and I am forever grateful for your love and guidance. I am so thankful that we spent precious quality time together this past summer. I am so thankful to have had you as my Aunt for as long as I did!! We had many conversations over the years that I will always treasure. You will always be in my heart Aunt Marie. And to Marie’s beautiful family I send my heartfelt condolences and prayers and wish you all peace and courage to move on without her. And may your memories of her bring you joy and love. May it bring you peace to know she is watching over you from Heaven above. Until we meet again Aunt Marie enjoy your new heavenly home.

My dear sweet Marie. My childhood memories of the "good old north end" always include Marie. Very close to being a relative with Bert being her sister and Josephine having been a sister-in-law, I always thought of her as an Auntie. My best memory - as a young child, I would spend time with my Aunt Josephine (Adelaide Street) and then head up to Marie's. She made the best ice cream squares ever. I remember the feeling I had eating them. I so enjoyed her stories and her opinions. To all of you, know how much I loved your Momma. Jackie Hamilton (Rector)

I spent the last month by her side and I want you to know that she was very well cared for. Not only her, but all of the family that were able to spend time with her. I can’t help but feel love and gratitude for every single staff member and volunteer at Bobbys Hospice. I can’t thank them enough.
She slept a few days before the end, but as stubborn and independent as you all know that she was, let me tell you a lot of hands were slapped trying to help her. She had bags of photos brought in every day and spent a lot of time going through them. I guarantee she thought of every single one of you.
Thank you for being a part of her life, it meant a lot to her.
She passed peacefully with Michel holding her hand. I put a hand on his shoulder and said I’m sorry pal. He looked up with a tear in the corner of his eye and said I am honored to be here.
I know a lot of you wished you were there and that wasn’t possible in these times, but I know she was in your thoughts. So did she. I thank you all for caring and hope that you can feel good that she is in a better place.
Lots of love,
Chuck
