Obituary of Barbara Laura Stevens
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Barbara Laura Stevens (Orr), beloved wife of the late Donald L. Stevens, announces her passing on April 21, 2022, at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born on December 2, 1937, in Hampton, NB she was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Orr.
Barb worked in the banking industry as a loan offer for many years. She loved spending time outdoors, especially taking walks, and often enjoyed attending to her plants and gardening. Barb was a warm and giving spirit. Her smile and her “things could be worse – it’s going to be okay” attitude, will forever live in the hearts of her loved ones. She was an extreme animal lover. Barbs’ home was the go-to place for the neighborhood pets that were looking for treats.
Barb will be forever missed by her loving son Donald (Jocelyn) Stevens; daughter Kim Stevens; as well as her grandchildren, Eric (Amanda) Stevens, Wayne Stevens; her precious great-granddaughter Lauren; her sister Roberta Kiecker; and nephew Bruce in Winnipeg.
Along with her husband Donald, Barbara was predeceased by: her sister Phyllis and brother Richard.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, there will be no formal services. A private family graveside will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations in Barbara’s name can be made to SPCA and online condolences can be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
