Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of John. We are so saddened by this loss and regret that we could not be present tomorrow to be with you all. Our deepest condolences from the Nicoles family. We met John many years ago when Zoe started working for Avis. John was not only a great boss to Zoe but an amazing friend. That friendship lasted long after Zoe left Avis, right up until her death 2 years ago.
Zoe loved her Avis family and her dear friend John, she always spoke very highly of him. When John is finally led to rest on what would have been Zoe's birthday, his friend will be waiting for him. Rest in peace and may your memory be eternal.

Sheehan, Sean, Catherine, Patrick and the entire McNamara family; I and Beth are saddened with the loss of a wonderful friend and my very best buddy. John has been such a big part of my life. Our friendship began at age 5 years with our oldest sisters, Jean and Lorraine, making sure we were introduced... Now 59 years later I prepare to say goodbye to a my best buddy who has been there for me everyday. John recently said we had a great childhood. We did indeed…from then on we shared a great long lasting friendship. We had many delightful cups of tea prepared by Sheelah only to share memories, talk about our motorcycles and their performance, any restoration projects or plans for upcoming rides or trips. Then there was all makes & models of cars which was something John also new a great deal about. John kids meant to world to him and he enjoyed filling me in on what they were doing. He also looked forward to hearing about what was taking place with Bret, Sarah & Jill. Any subject related to politics and world events always struck a note with John.
John’s wisdom, knowledge, kindness, and true friendship will be forever missed. He has taken his final ride to be at peace, welcomed into the kingdom of heaven and reunited with his mom, dad and sister Dawn.

Sheelah, Sean, Patrick, Patrick and Katherine - I am so saddened to hear of John’s passing. I have so many great memories of spending time with John over the years and fortunately many of them have been recent. He had a huge presence in my dad’s life and by association, in mine as well. John was my dad’s sounding board for advice on just about everything and he always had great insight. My sisters and I have always joked that we could concoct whatever plans in life that we wanted but that in the end, it would be John and dad’s advice that would seal the deal. He was such a wonderful presence in our lives and his passing leaves a huge void. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Barb and I are so very sorry to hear of John's passing, far too soon. Our deepest and sincerest condolences to Sheelah, Lynn and all the family. John was an exceptional biker in addition to all of the other roles that he had in his life. I always enjoyed talking to him and getting an education on just about anything you can think of, particularly related to the world of motorcycles. I enjoyed having John drop by when the lads were all down at Laconia, and when we convinced him to go to Mid Ohio as well. In particular, I'm so pleased that we had the pleasure of his company during our bike tour of Nfld just last August. He was an astute business man and I don't think he was afraid of any challenge that life threw at him, which is probably why so many people relied upon his strength. I also want to offer my condolences to my good friend Al Landry. He and John were lifetime buddies and I know he will miss John so much.
Ride in peace brother....no more speed limits for you.

The Hunter family is saddened by the loss of our friendly neighbour John. Our quick chats on the side of the road about what is happening in the neighbourhood or any subject will be sorely missed. You could always count on John to give a friendly wave as he drove by in (or on) one of the dozens of two and four wheeled vehicles we have seen him drive over the years. My kids always wondered how many motorcycles he actually had in that shed of his.
Our condolences to Sheelah, Sean, Patrick and Katherine, John will be missed dearly and our thoughts are with you.

My brother Kirby and John were great friends through high school and beyond. When I worked in Fredericton and John was going to university there, I remember a very cold drive home to Saint John on the back of John’s motorcycle. He didn’t seem to mind the cold, but then he was well dressed for the occasion. Me…not so much! He gave me a pair of coveralls, but unfortunately, I was frozen solid by the time I got home.
