Obituary of Helen Buck
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Helen Frances Buck on Saturday, May 29th, 2022, in her 72nd year. Born in Derbyshire England, she was a daughter of Donald and Mary (nee Roe) Buck.
Helen was a self-assured, strong-willed, independent individual who had a distinctive style and flare. From an early age, the love of music played an important role in Helen’s life. Helen was a collector of many things including pig figurines, elegant glass and china, and beautiful artwork. Known to be an artistic woman, she shifted her love for art into food. Fulfilling her dream, she opened the Beatty and the Beastro restaurant in King’s Square where people were greeted by a cozy and eclectic environment and delicious aromas. Helen also loved tulips and found many unique ways to incorporate the flower into her life.
Helen is survived by her sister Judith (Thomas); nieces and nephew Elizabeth (Pierre), Peter, and Chyloe; great-nephew’s Louis, Edouard “Eddie”, and Felix; many cousins in the UK; as well as many friends. She is predeceased by her parents Donald and Mary Buck.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In following with Helen’s wishes cremation will take place with a private celebration of life being held at a later date. Donations in Helen’s memory can be made to the Saint John SPCA or charity of choice. For those who wish, condolences may be made by visiting www.BrenansFH.com.
