I just only now learned about Cathy's passing, and was so saddened to hear this news. Cathy was my favorite prof at UNB SJ in the early 80s, where I did a BBA as a mature student. She hired me as a marker and also sent jobs my way as an Accounting tutor for her first uear students, when I was in my final year. I became friends with her then, and reconnected with her when I moved back here after 40 years, in 2014. Cathy was a stellar individual and the world is a better place because of her. RIP Cathy.

I am so sorry; I have just heard of Cathie's passing. For many years she was the lady who manage to keep me sane during the turbulent years of Athletics New Brunswick, I will always be grateful for that. She certainly knew how to express herself very clearly to everyone and was not shy in calling a shovel a spade when it was required !!!!
I am sure that the gathering you had yesterday was a great celebration of her life and many wonderful stories were shared-- I only wished I had been part of it.
My sincere condolences to everyone in the Teed family
Take Care

Mr. Teed, Emily & Family:
We are sending you our sincere condolences, prayers with intention for strength at this time, and for the repose of your wife and mothers soul.
Cathie was an amazing lady, whom I had the good fortune to work with at UNB Saint John. She was curating the art work and came to my office to talk about art and help me select the fabulous painting that lived on my office wall at Beaverbrook House for the ten years I was employed at the UNB International Recruitment Centre. Cathie had already retired when I was leaving and I announced to everyone that I had to sign back in my painting to the UNB Vault as I had promised Cathie Hurley (and signed an agreement about it with her).
Cathie was a kind, thoughtful, soft spoken, friendly, smart lady who seemed to excel at everything she did. We adored her at UNB Saint John. She is already missed there since her retirement.
Her mark in the World was felt by so many people not just at The University of New Brunswick but through-out the community. What an incredible lady.
We hope your family, friends and faith will shepherd you through this sad time.
With much love,
Your Waldschutz Neighbours on Germain Street xo

It is with great sadness that I learn of the news of Aunt Cathie's passing.
It was a short two months ago that I approached Aunt Cathie with an issue that I was having and she offered me great guidance along with Uncle Peter.
This was the type of person she was, always willing to lend an ear, a shoulder or a helping hand.
Last year, while my father was sick and she visited her brother (Jack) in NL, I recall the conversations we had surrounding the importance of family. These conversations stuck with me along with many others that were had at the dinner table during this difficult time.
This is such a huge loss for both the Teed and Hurley Family.

To many of us she was the role model of what a strong woman is, she was assertive and strong, intelligent and so wise. Cathy was one of my first mentors, she spent the time to explain a naive young woman how the Canadian work culture was, she mentored me about taking decisions that were good for me, about giving so much to work but keeping what is important for those who love you. A committed social warrior, she was always ready to engage in a fight if it was to improve the lives of others. My life and that of many other women is so much richer and happier because of her... to Cathy the force, the leader, the thoughtful person (she was the first person in my career to send me flowers for a job well done)... she taught me to demand to be treated with respect and know my worth.
