It is with broken hearts that the family of Bill Mabee of Fredericton, cherished husband of Roberta (Martin) Mabee, announce his sudden passing which occurred on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on April 9, 1941 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Gordon and Kathleen (McGoldrick) Mabee.

Prior to his retirement, Bill had a wonderful working career with McCain Foods Worldwide, where he served as the Vice-President of Finance.  Once retired, he immersed himself in his creativity and became passionate about doodling, pottery making and creating beautiful jewelry.  Bill learned to take great comfort in the art of Tai Chi and was a big supporter of cannabis culture (420).

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his son, Stephen Mabee (Erin); daughter-in-law, Sally “Betsy” Mabee; son-in-law, Tony Burton (Odette); brothers, Peter Mabee (Mary) and Michael Mabee (Lillian); uncle/brother, Dave McGoldrick (Bernice); grandchildren, Matthew Burton, Sam Burton (Kate Ann), Maxwell McCarter, Kristen Mabee and Brandon Mabee; great-grandchildren, Ronan, Anders and Bennett; as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Barbara P. (Foran) Mabee and daughters, Cathy Lee Burton and Laurie McCarter.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation or formal funeral service.  A Celebration of Bill’s Life will take place at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of NB.
