My heartfelt sympathy to all Sr.Celene’s family on her death. So many, many fond memories of this beautiful, faith-filled, compassionate, kind and gentle lady. Her presence and love to all those in need was truly the “Holy Spirit “ in action. When Sr.Celene and Sr.Emily were put in charge of reorganizing the refurbishment of the Villa Madonna, I certainly saw her in action. She was soo kind to our son, Stefan, when he was hired for the summer as a student in training through the SEED Program. She went out of her way to make sure he was comfortable, had enough to eat, and always was encouraging. He never forgot her kindness…or did we. Soo sad we are unable to attend her funeral liturgy as we are out of the country. May all the prayers from family and friends comfort and strengthen you as you mourn and grieve the loss of this special “ nun”. She was well loved and loved well in return. God Bless, Donna and Eckart and Stefan Schroeter

I only found out about Sister Celine passing today. I immediately told my dad who was shocked to hear of his cousin’s passing. She was such a gentle and caring person anyone would want to meet. Anytime she got home she found time to visit my dad and mom. The tea pot was always ready with a tray of sweets. The old days were remembered and a few laughs were had. My dad lost a great member of his extended family

I am so sorry I am not able to be persent in person to celebrate Sr. Celene's amazing life and contribution to so many others, as well as her Resurrection into a place that might even be more beautiful than Bath and Johnville and Killoween. I carry many fond memories of Sr. Celene but more specifically memories of her visits home and the respect and love of her family and community she grew up in; an afternoon spent with her and Sr. Anita at Mary's Place and neighborhood in Vancouver; and her and Sr. Emily teaming up to upgrade the Villa Madonna Retreat House in every aspect of it's Mission. Most of all I carry within me her warmth, sense of humour, capacity to be deeply present in each situation she found herself with such genuineness, interest and humility, and of course, her 'Courage' to do 'All' the right things that she led, joined and embraced. Much peace to you Sr. Celene! Love and Prayers!

My sincere sympathy to the members of the SCIC Community and also to Celene's family. By the way she spoke of you, often so touched by your visits, I know you were very dear to her.
Celene was and always will be a very dear friend. We worked together on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside for all the years I was there and kept in touch since we both moved in 2012.
In Vancouver, we formed a wonderful community of five - Celene, Anita, Alice, Isabell and myself. I have such precious memories of celebrations especially our birthdays.
Mary's Place, a small intimate gathering place for women of the area was dear to so many of us. Celene made sure that we celebrated birthdays. It was not unusual for the women to be moved to tears: "This is the first time that anyone celebrated my birthday."
One day, Celene was walking home on the DES and a man walked along with her. He obviously had something important he wanted to say. He said: " You know we keep an eye out for you down here." Celene's presence was that meaningful to him and his friends. Her presence made a difference for them!
Celene, heaven will never be the same with you there! I miss you a lot yet I rejoice with you. You are Home with the God of your own big heart and with so many dear family members and friends.

Our sincere sympathy to Sister Celene’s family and religious community. We met Sister Celene some years ago when she vacationed on PEI and continuing years on the Island as well as when visiting my sister in the community of SCIC in St John. Sister was truly a beautiful person inside and out, with a kind and sincere love for all. It was a joy and privilege to know her and blessings to her dear family.

While in Vancouver on a business trip Teen and I went "The Fish restaurant" where she ordered the Beef Wellington. As she was not a big eater I thought she was going to have a doggy bag to go but to my surprise she are it all. She looked up at me after her last bite and said. " Bet you thought I could not eat it all ( with a great big grin on her face). Then we both laughed as she knew all along what I was thinking. I always loved her sense of humor. You will be missed.

To SCIC Community & Nieces , My first encounter with Sister Celine was in the Clubroom at Rocmaura during my times going to the SCIC ASSOCIATES Gatherings. She put out a plea for bread clips & pop tabs and so I got right on it. (The ME WE Group) got together and on my first haul WE collected two grocery bags filled with pop tabs which I took to her and she was in awe that I could get that many but I told her it was the Me We group who helped. I think WE collected 10,000. Than when WE collected another 10,000 before COVID. As we dropped them off at the OASIS Shelter.. During the first year WE collected and dropped them off cleaned another 10,000 for Sister Celine. She couldn't believe we had collected over 30,000 pop tabs.. She wanted to thank the WE ME group and that she did with a card saying we collected enough to have a wheel chair for a child over in a country over in one of the poor countries.. My partner and I were ready to take another batch of pop tabs as they started recycling plastic so we stop saving them.. But the Me We group will miss getting our pop tabs to Sister Celine.. May you Rest in Peace.(Associate) Jannette Jarvis
