To David and family,
My, your mother was so active and vibrant for many years. We met from time to time when I worked at Sears Lansdowne Ave., and saw her often at Parkland, where I volunteered till Covid struck. I always got to catch up on the activities she participated in like gardening, and going for day bus trips. She was still amazing in her latter years. I remember her well at St. Mark’s helping us Junior Choir members to get into their gowns before church. I had worked with Grant so had many talks about days passed. She was a wonderful, caring, committed and dedicated woman to her church and family, who never changed. Now that God has called her home, she has the legacy of the many lives that were made better by knowing her. May you be comforted by the memories she made with you and the family.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of this wonderful lady. I knew Marian and her husband Grant over the years as Grant and I served in the RCMP at the same time. After retirement I co-ordinated our Veterans Monthly Luncheons and Marian was a faithful attender until health matters prevented her from doing so. Marian was a very happy, pleasant and friendly lady. Her smile and disposition were infectious. May she rest in peace. To all of her family I extend sincere sympathy.
Wally Collett.

My condolences to Marian's family
I knew Marian in the 80's through my involvement in the Volunteer Centre, first as a volunteer, and then after Marian stepped down as Director, when I took over as Director. Marian had been a role model to me, so dedicated to her work for volunteers and volunteer agencies. I was impressed by her caring and kindness, always taking the time to treat every volunteer as special. Her sense of humour brought a sense of fun to any occasion. It was inspiring to see what a positive difference she could make in the lives of so many. I will always be grateful to her personally for her guidance and support during those years, when I worked so closely with her.

We were saddened to learn of the death of Marion. We have memories of her with you at family events. It was great that you were able to create four generations of memories. We recall how she loved you. We also recall her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the One who said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me though they die yet shall they live." John 11:25 We are remembering you in prayer.

I have fond memories of Marian. I served in various capacities on the board of the Volunteer Centre in the 1970s and 80s when Marian ran the organization so efficiently. I learned much from her and cherish my experiences working along side her. She was a kind hearted and empathetic leader. To her immediate and extended family please accept my sincere condolences.

My sincerest sympathy to the family. I knew her as Mrs. Rickard, Bill's mother back when they lived on Clover Court in Greendale. She was always pleasant and nice whenever I visited their home and was a great mum. I lost track of Bill and his family not long after Mr. Rickard died, and often wondered what became of them. I remember her always being involved with Church and other activities, and it's nice to see that she continued to stay active in the later part of her life as well. After reading her obituary, it seems that she was the same lovely lady that I remember from 40 years ago. [10-4 Omega Kid - Bulldog]

I was part of Marian’s membership committee when she was chair at Saint David’s United Church, which I later took on with her caring help, wise counsel and attention to detail. I was fortunate to visit her beautiful garden, and to see her Santa collection. I send my sincere sympathy to her family.
