Obituary of Marian Ruth Lewis
It is with great sadness that the family of Marian Lewis announces her passing which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, on April 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Susie (Smith) Kay.
Left with many fond and loving memories are her family. Children, Michael Rickard (Ruth), David Rickard (Lois), Bill Rickard (Julie); stepchildren, Barbara MacMullin (David) and Beverly Lewis; grandchildren, Janice Rickard, Christopher Rickard, Isaac Rickard (Melissa), Miles Rickard (Adeline), Tony Ferguson (Kerry), Matthew Rickard, Joshua MacMullin, Glenn MacMullin (Liz), Juanita Lewis, Andrew Lewis, Michael Lewis and Lorena Lewis; great-grandchildren, Avery MacMullin, Emma MacMullin, Cullen Rickard, Sloane Rickard, Evan Rickard, Amelia Ferguson; sister-in-law, Katherine Wells; as well as many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
In addition to her parents, Marian was predeceased by her husbands, Frank Rickard and Grant Lewis; brothers, Jack Kay and Leslie Kay; stepson, Ian Lewis; sister-in-law, Rita Kay.
Marian had a tremendous love for her ever-growing family. She enjoyed gardening, birds and anything that involved nature. She had a strong belief in living life to the fullest, every day.
Thank you to the nurses and staff of 5CN and to the staff of Bobby’s Hospice for their compassionate care.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held from St. David's United Church on Saturday, June 8, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Fairhaven Cemetery (1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, NB, E1E-3V9) following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB, Bobby’s Hospice, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
