Obituary of Jeanette Ida Dobbelsteyn
It is with profound sadness that the family of Jeanette Ida (Lozier) Dobbelsteyn announce her sudden passing on Saturday, December 7th at her residence in the Loch Lomond Villa Complex. Born in Saint John on September 4, 1936, Jeanette was the daughter of the late Thomas and Amanda (Savoie) Lozier and wife of the late Raymond "Dutchie" Dobbelsteyn.
Jeanette will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Frank (Myra) Lozier; her six children: Terry (Paula), Peggy, Brian (Gloria), Marlene (Bruce), Jamie and Michael (Carmel); her 31 grandchildren: David (Lita), Sarah (Mark), Michael (Leah), Katie (Jesse), Mary (Matt), Bernadette (Isaac), Rebecca, Wayne (Natasha), Jody (Ray), Mackenzie (Cody), Rachel (Ronnie), Hanna (Adrien), Jenna, Nicholas (Kayla), Maria, Gabrielle, Daniel, Matthew, Monica, Stephanie, Christina, Jaime-Marie, Noah (Bailey), Christian, John-Paul, Maryanne, Raymond "Dutchie", Jonah, Jacob, Marcus and Adeline "Addy", 19 great-grandchildren, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
The blessing of such a marvelous progeny began with her marriage to Raymond on February 11, 1956 at St. Peter's Catholic Church where Jeanette continued to be a faithful parishioner, as well as becoming a devoted member of the Catholic Women's League and St. Peter's reliable and hard-working Sacristan for many years. In addition to her involvement with the life of the Church, Jeanette's employment history included the former Eastern Bakeries on Douglas Avenue, Sonny's Restaurant and the Lansdowne Post Office in Shoppers Drug Mart. Her out-going and vibrant personality brought great enjoyment to her family, especially during the Boxing Day family parties, summertime gatherings and the Fredericton family reunions. Jeanette was young at heart and always eager to attend events and socials at the Loch Lomond Villa, where she greatly enjoyed the company of all who lived there. She also loved a good game of Skip-Bo and still bowled weekly with her friends at the Fairview Bowling Lanes.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanette was predeceased by her siblings: Alfred "Alfie" Savoie, Rita (Murray) Regan, Edith (Ernest) Doiron, Edward (Josephine) Lozier, Mamie (Morris) Desjardins, Alex (Eileen) Lozier and Eileen (George) Juliano.
