Obituary of Lucetta MacNeill

January 12, 1958 - January 19, 2025

Lucetta passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Kings Way Care Centre after a brave battle with ovarian cancer.

She was predeceased by her mother, Grace (MacPherson) MacNeill.  Lucetta is survived by her father, Ian MacNeill; sisters, Deborah Rapp (Stan) and Heather Shentaler (Todd); brother, Roderick MacNeill (Edna); beloved nieces, Sheri and Kelsey and nephews, Trevor, Kody and Johnie.

Lucetta was born on a Canadian Air Force base in Marville, France.  Her family moved back to Canada when she was three years old.  From the age of 14, Lucetta lived in Saint John, NB.  She graduated from Saint John High School in 1976.  Soon after, she went to work at NBTel, which later became Bell Alliant.  She worked there until her early retirement at the age of 57.

Lucetta battled many health issues throughout her life.  She bravely battled ovarian cancer for four years.

As per Lucetta’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424).

The family would like to thank Dr. Gray (oncology) and all the nurses at Kings Way Care Centre who took such good care of Lucetta.  She loved each and every one of you.  Thank you for taking care of our Lu.
