Special Events

Throughout the year our funeral homes offer a number of programs for the benefit of those we serve and the community at large. Most are related to helping those who are dealing with a loss - recent or past - and typically, they are open to everyone. This page will feature news of upcoming programs as they are announced.

Our Memorial Tree Lighting
Service Is Back

We are very pleased to announce that we are returning to an in-person service on Thursday, December 1 at the Dennis R. Knibb Auditorium at Saint John High School in uptown Saint John.

We understand that many are not yet comfortable with public events so we will also webcast the service live for those who prefer to take part remotely. A link will be available here on our website by the day of the service.

Our 2022 Memorial Tree Lighting will be jointly hosted by Brenan's, Castle Fallsview & Kennebecasis Community Funeral Homes.

Our large new venue will provide an ideal setting for our service and help us avoid crowding as well. You may enter the auditorium from the main doors on Duke Street beginning at 6:30 pm. An alternative entrance will be available for those who may have difficulty with stairs. (Auditorium side door off of Canterbury Street - check with us for wheelchair access.)

As always our service will conclude with the illumination of our special Christmas Tree as a beautiful, seasonal memorial to those we’ve lost. We hope you will be able to join us whether in person or virtually.

The Honour Roll

We will pay tribute to all of those we have been privileged to serve by adding their names to our Honour Roll which will be presented during the service.

The Service

Each year at this time, our thoughts turn to those who are dealing with a loss as the holidays approach. For many years it has been our tradition to host a special service of remembrance where they can gather for a time of mutual support and reflection on the comforting memories the season can inspire.

The evening is a combination of music, reflections and special seasonal messages focused on those who grieve.

The Music

Once again this year we are very fortunate to have the wonderful young voices of the Saint John High School Choir, under the direction of Patricia Gallagher.

Please be mindful that parking uptown can take extra time and a bit of patience at this time of year. Please plan accordingly.
